Silver Tower, located in the center of Shanghai's bustling Huaihai Road shopping district, is an integrated property development including a 28 storey service apartment tower and a 16 storey office tower, together with a 5 storey shopping arcade. The property was acquired by Maple Tree Group of Singapore in 2011.

The original waterproofing material on the rooftop was a traditional sheet membrane type, which had degraded with age, leading to the interfaces becoming delaminated. During the typhoon season of 2012, the buildings faced numerous leaking problems due to the failure of the existing sheet membrane waterproofing. The property managers of Silver Tower sought an effective replacement system to achieve a secure remedial solution for the waterproofing. After a series of technical assessments on the material’s properties and performance, they chose an OPTIMIX high performance system to completely replace the existing waterproofing system.
